| I am instructed by Col. J. F. Gilmer Chief
of Engineer Bureau to return the mortgage assented by you to the
Confederate States of America which you will please find enclosed
herewith. |
| The Hon. Secretary of War requires a
mortgage on your entire road and appurtenances. I learn from Col. Gilmer
that you have been notified of the points required by the Secy. of War.
The contract has not been returned, and I suppose it to be satisfactory. |
| The mortgage was ex??ted in accordance
with the original instructions to me approved by the former Secy. of
War. |
