| At the request of Col. J. F. Gilmer Chief
of Engineer Bureau Richmond Va. the order, of which the following is a
copy has been forwarded to me from Major St. John. Mr. Geo. G. Hull
{Superintendent, Atlanta & West Point RR}
informed me a few days since that you were expected in Atlanta. On this
information I have waited with the expectation of meeting you without
going to Augusta. The tools required are 8 Doz. spades & shovels (part
of each) 5 Doz. picks, 5 doz. mattocks and 5 doz. axes. |

you can supply and oblige. |
