Dear Sir, |
In answer to your letter of the 25th would say
that the Holston and Watauga Bridges were built of timber that I had cut
for Clinch River Br K & Ky Rl. Rd. {Knoxville &
Kentucky RR}, Paint Rock Br M & G R {Mobile
& Great Northern RR} and one or two extra spans that was cut for
Bridgeport Bridge. {Tennessee River bridge of the
Nashville & Chattanooga RR} of this timber Wadley & Co cut

1/2 of Clinch bill was |
cut by Geo & Drew. Also a span from Bridgeport bill and a lot of staging
Plank, but not having the bills of Material for the Bridges cannot tell
how much of the timber was used in the two Bridges. If there is any way
to fix up the Vouchers correctly I will do it with pleasure, and dont
think Messers W & Co will object to sign duplicates |
{the page ends without a signature, but it was
probably from Maxwell} |
