Colonel, |
I have the honor to acknowledge the rect
of your letter of the 9th inst. authorizing contracts for the completion
of grading &c. between Rome Ga. and Blue Mountain Ala. Also your letter
of the 11th inst instructing me to proceed to the Salines of Clark Co.
Ala. and make investigations as defined in your instructions. |
You instruct me to await here an interview
with Professor R. Tromassy. As the Professor has not reached
Atlanta, I feel some doubt as to the intention of your instruction,
whether to wait his arrival or proceed to the proposed scene of
operations. I infer that you expected the Professor to reach Atlanta
soon after the arrival of your letter. The information which he can
input will aid me most essentially and I have concluded to wait a
reasonable time with the hope of meeting him. |
Very Respectfully |
