Dear Sir, |
I recd. yours of the 3d today. I regret to
inform you of the death of one of your negro boys left in hospital. He
died the second day after you left. The other was rapidly improving when
last reported by Dr Wilson. I have not been able to see the Doct. today.
The death would have been reported by me but for Dr. Wilson who stated
that he would make the report. I will inform you at the earliest moment
that the other boy is able to be removed. |
In our settlement I neglected to take your
duplicate signature on Pay Roll as required by the Dept. Please sign
opposite the amount ($1500) and return by mail. |
The Pay Roll with envelop & postage is
herewith enclosed. |
Very truly Yrs. |
