| I enclose copy of decision of the Hon Secy
of Treasy in the matter of $50,000 remaining to my credit in your hands,
and which amt still stands charged against me on the books of the Treasy
Dept. at Richmond. I also enclose copy of Extracts from letter of Maj
Genl Gilmer Chf of Engr Bureau. |
| In accordance with Maj Genl Gilmer's
letter of instruction I now enclose my check on you by which you are
authorized to place to the credit of Appropriation for Engineer Services
the sum of Fifty thousand dollars and balance my a/c on your books. I
also enclose duplicate certificates of Deposit for your Signature which
you will please sign & enclose to me by mail. This matter has given me
much trouble and I shall feel greatly relieved when it is disposed of. |
