| I have the honor to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter of the 22nd ult with a form of appointment from
the Secretary of War giving me the grade of Captain in the Corps of
Engineers P. A. C. S. Also your letter of instructions relating to the
Rome & Blue Mountain Rail Road and copy of the act of Congress
appropriating Bonds of the Govt to aid in the Construction. I have today
forwarded my acceptance to Genl. S. Cooper Adjutant & Inspector Genl and
shall enter upon the duty set forth in your letter of instructions early
in the coming week. |
