| Your letter of 25th ult to Col Gilmer Chf
of Eng Bureau at Richmond has been refered to me in the form of a Copy
under instructions from Col Gilmer. I have made myself as well
acquainted with the extent and condition of the work required to to
complete the link of Rail Road from Rome to Blue Mountain as the short
time since the recpt of the instructions would admit. |
| I am prepared to receive and consider any
proposition for the construction of that portion of the Road from Rome
to the State line which the Dalton & Jacksonville R. R. Co. through its
Committee may desire to submit |
