| Previously to my assignment to this Post,
I was on detached service and reconnaissance duties for about 3 months
during which period my expenses were necessarily large. Maj Genl M L
Smith told me that my expenses ought to be allowed under the head of
reconnaissance duties. Will you please instruct me in what manner to
make out the a/c and to whom I shall rect for the pay? |
| In the fall of Atlanta I lost nearly all
my property and all of my income, except pay in the service. It behooves
me to look closely to expenditures of the above class, which heretofore
I have permitted to pass without notice. |
