| I am informed by the Surgeon of this Post
that medicines cannot be issued from the Medical Dept for negroes or
other Employees of the Engineer Dept, but may be purchased from the
Medical Purveyor by order of the Surgeon Genl. Please obtain from the
Surgeon Genl an order to the Medical Purveyor at this Post to sell me
such medicines as may be needed for negroes and other employees on the
Defenses of Augusta. |
