| I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of
A. L. Maxwell's letter to Maj Genl Gilmer with your remarks endorsed
thereon. |
| Agreeably to your previous instructions I
paid Maxwell's bills amounting to $29,214.35 and was not advised, up to
the letter 26th of Augt last, that he had further claims. Under your
present instructions I will pay the second account when in funds. |
| No draft has been recd on the last
Requisition from the Bureau in my favor. Can you do anything towards
expediting the draft? |
