Chief of Engineer Bureau |

Your dispatch of yesterday came to hand
this morning, to which I sent an acknowledgement by telegraph. I leave
by the next train to inspect the site of the bridges. |
In regard to iron rails for the Blue
Mountain & Rome railroad, I suggest the propriety of leaving to the
judgment of Col. Wm. M. Wadley Asst. Adt Genl the selection of the road
or roads to be despoiled. His position will enable him to judge
correctly as to the roads of the least public or Govt. necessity. I will
report to you at some point in E. Tennessee. |
Very Respectfully |
