| I am authorized by Gen. Beauregard to take
the iron & fastenings from your road below Waynesboro, as a military
necessity, and to impress such transportation, tools & labor as may be
necessary to remove said rails & fastenings. Lieut. H. L. Norfleet of
the 2nd Reg. Engr. Troops is charged with the immediate execution of
this work. You will please give him a train of 12 platform cars with
locomotive properly manned and pilot for the train. Please give an order
to your foreman of repairs to place himself & force under the orders of
Lieut. Norfleet with the tools in his charge. I will pay for the time of
your force and for use of tools. |
