| You will please proceed to Washington Ga.
and receive the negroes to be turned over to the Engr. Dept. by the
Enrolling officers of Lincoln County. A descriptive list and
appraisement of value of each slave and clothing must be furnished to
you by the Enrolling officers. You will receipt for the negroes turned
over and bring the gang to Augusta or take the gang to J. T. Stone Asst.
Mil. Engr. at Social Circle at your discretion, being governed by
information as to whether or not a force of negroes has been sent to
Augusta by Wm. M. Hight to remove iron from the Aug. & Sa. R. Rd. |
