Genl. Duff Green requested me to send you
a draft in payment for pig metal obtained from Col. Stour(?) near
Jonesboro E. Ten. for rebuilding Watauga & Holston bridges. |
I have recd. an answer from Col. Gilmer
Chf. of Engineer Bureau Richmond to the inquiry made by me as to the
price to be allowed. He says the price is fixed by Maj. St. John, Chief
of Nitre Bureau. I have just seen Maj. Hirt(?) from Selma, who is acting
under Maj. St. John's orders. He says the prices are as follows, |
