| The Board of Directors assembled this day
at their office 10 oclock A M |
| Present G G Griffin President & Directors
J W Lapsley Jas L Price R H Hudson and R D Shackleford |

| Whereas it is determined by the Government
or War Department of the Confederate States that |
| the Military necessitys of the Government require the
completion of the Rail Road of this Company at the earliest day
possible, and Engineers have been detailed on behalf of the Government
to superintend the work, and assist the Company in urging it forward, be
it and it is hereby |
| Resolved that this Company assents to such
measures as may be deemed necessary by the Engineers acting on behalf of
the Government for the early completion of the Road, but in this
assenting this board of directors do not intend to pledge this Company,
for the extraordinary expenditures, which may be incurred in carrying
out the views of the Government in the early completion of the Road. |
