| Board adjourned to 8 oclock Wednesday, May 5th
{date should be May 15} on convening at
that time |
| The President having submitted a letter
from Mess Hall and Dunlkin(?), asking a subscription for the purpose of
building an Engine house in Selma it was |
| Resolved That the secretary be directed to inform those
Gentlemen that at present, the Company is prevented by want of funds, to
meet engagements already existing, from entering into any immediate
engagements beyond what are absolutely necessary to this road, but
acknowledging the importance of the subject matter of the proposition,
will subscribe towards its accomplishment the sum of two hundred dollars
for the payment of which in twelve months from this date the Company not
shall be given provided the proposed Engine house be of Brick, and be
located in the vicinity of the crossing of this road, with the Ala. &
Tenn. Rail Road or at some point concurrent and accessible to the
property of this Company, and be completed before the Company's note is
given |
