Atlanta Artillery Traffic

   According to Daniel & Gunter, Confederate Cannon Foundries, Quartermasters in Atlanta recorded the following information on 144 of the 201 pieces of artillery that passed through the Atlanta Arsenal between August 1863 and July 1864. Movement of an additional 12 pieces is known from Army reports. Four field pieces would fit on one flat car. The number of limbers, caissons, etc. that went with these pieces is not known, but sets of 4 guns from the Augusta Foundry are reported to have included limbers.
