Rails were from the Cambria Iron Works, Johnstown, Pa. and was of a superior quality. The spikes and fasteners were furnished by Tredegar Iron Works, Richmond, and are of the best quality and most improved kind. Enough money was saved by increasing the grade to a maximum of 68 2/3 feet per mile to allow the ballasting with broken stone of at least 23 miles. |
