| The offices and shops for both the Orange & Alexandria RR and the Alexandria, Loudoun & Hampshire RR were in Alexandria. Gen. Lee tried to get the rolling stock of the AL&H RR run over to the O&A RR before the Union captured the city. He was not successful, but Capt. Sharp pulled some of the rolling stock from Leesburg to the Manassas Gap RR. |
