Houston Tap & Brazoria Bridges

On the 50 miles, from Houston, there are 3 bridges, built on pile foundations. The first is 900 feet long, over Bray's Bayou. It was completed in 1856 and proved a most substantial structure.

The second bridge (over Simms' Bayou?) is 417 feet 6 inches long and was completed in 1859.
The third bridge is 250 feet long, over Oyster Creek. It is a trestle bridge, 27 feet above the water and constructed entirely of Live Oak.
