Colonel J Gorgas C. S. P. A.
Chief of Ordnance

My dear Colonel,
Owing to absence from Milledgeville I did not receive until now your letter of the 18 ultimo, offering us 1500 Austrian rifles with bayonets. The Governor will take them as a part of the arms due the State on former account.
Please let us have them as soon as you can, as all the State Troops are on the line of the Road in rear of General Bragg's army {the Western & Atlantic RR} and protecting his line of communication.
Yrs truly
Henry C Wayne
A & I General
