Milledgeville & Macon Telegraph Form

Dated Raleigh N. C. {May} 22 1863
To Gov Joseph E Brown

I have some cotton at Macon & Augusta in your state with which I am importing army supplies & bacon. Can you possibly furnish me transportation for it in the direction of Wilmington. Blockade running must be done this winter or not at all. I have now three vessels afloat & will soon have two more I cannot operate them without the cotton from your state.
