Sir, |
I beg leave to represent the
great inconvenience that will follow to my establishment if the line
of the Macon & Brunswick Rail Road is disturbed. |
I am the proprietor of a
Foundry & Machine Shop situated in this City & have contracted
very largely to the Government in machining and munitions of war,
beside supplying mills for saw & grist to the farmers when leisure
was allowed for use for private work. I am dependent entirely upon
this Rail Road for fuel & charcoal to feed my furnaces & the
removal of the rails from its lower end will destroy the usefulness of
the Road to a very great degree as it has just reached a tract of fine
land upon which I can rely for these articles. |
I respectfully petition that
the orders that I hear have been given, may not be carried into effect
as I cannot rely upon any other Road for the maintenance of my shop. |
Very respectfully |
