Dear Sir,
The Nashville & Decatur Rail Road runs from Nashville Tenn. to Decatur Ala. It is formed by the consolidation of the Tennessee & Alabama, the Central Southern and the Tennessee & Alabama Rail Roads and takes the name of Nashville & Decatur Rail Road Tenn.
This Road is in need of more Freight Box Cars. The cars are wanting for immediate use.
I saw Col. Goodman of the Miss. Central R. R. a day or two since. He said we could have the twenty cars now at your shop for him. All Box. He said they were ready for use. Can I get them, and at the same time and on the same terms he was to have them. Let me know immediately. I shall want after a little one hundred Box Cars. If I like yours and can make it the interest of our Road to trade with you, I would like it. But I want the twenty any how if all is right.
Yours Respectfly
W. O. A. Perkins, Gen. Supt.
