We are doing all we can for the early
completion of the Mississippi. The after part of the center
shaft has been put in and the fitting on of the propeller this
evening. One of the side shafts came to the yard finished to-day;
the other is in Leeds' shop and will be completed in the course of
three or four days.
Our iron is coming forward rapidly and
we learn by telegraph that the last of it will leave Mobile for this
place on Saturday.
