Major-General McLaws

Believing the enemy is moving on Augusta , I have ordered all the disposable force from this place to that point. Send up cars {of the Georgia (Central) RR} to take away the troops. The damage done the railroad is believed to be inconsiderable; I am having it repaired. Hasten the cars forward. I shall leave to-morrow morning.
