Major-General Loring
Jackson

The quartermaster has engaged railroad transportation for 5,500 men, the trains to be near Jackson at daybreak. Bring up about that number from your division, with ammunition and cooking implements; no knapsacks. Two or three wagons to be started at the earliest hour by the road. Provisions can be had here. Cars {on the New Orleans, Jackson & Great Northern RR} for 1,500 men will return from here.
