Rail Road Accident
We learn that the down express mail train on the Wil. & Weldon Rail Road {Wilmington & Weldon RR} was thrown from the track, near the 26 mile post, by the breaking of the wheel of a Petersburg R. R. freight car containing corpses. One man (whose name we have not been able to ascertain) sitting on the platform of a car was instantly killed, being thrown off and his neck broken. One other person injured we learn not seriously. The cars were much broken up and the road obstructed.
The regular mail train that should have left at 2 o'clock did not leave until about 8 o'clock this morning. The road is now cleared of the wreck caused by the disaster yesterday afternoon. Col. Fremont returned from the wreck at 3 o'clock this morning, bringing in the mail and passengers.
