Notice to Military Companies and
Individuals |
Free passage to troops or
individuals, except in a few special cases, cannot be given in future. |
The contract with the
Confederate States is for all troops per capita two cents per mile --
baggage at the usual rates. |
The same rules apply to all
troops traveling under orders from point to point on this road. The
order of officer ordering the movement, or of the Quartermaster
requesting transportation, be supplied to the Conductor, who will take
the certificate from the officer or non-commissioned officer
commanding, that transportation has been supplied accordingly. |
No individuals to travel
without order under this rule. All without special authority must pay
the usual fare. This rule has become necessary in consequence of the
great number of those applying to pass free without any claim
whatsoever. |
