Fire on the Railroad |
It is reported that the train
which left here, on Tuesday last {July 9},
on the N. C. Railroad, set fire to some wood contiguous to the Road, by
sparks from the locomotive. This occurred about two miles this side of
Smithfield and about 200 yards of the rails were consumed. The loss is
reported to be about $1000 |
