NP, VC 4/15/1861

From the Vicksburg Citizen

April 15, 1861

An Indian was killed on the Southern {(of Mississippi)} Rail Road by the Cars running over him. He had been laying around the Streets, very drunk all the day, and unfortunately wandered towards the Machine Shop, but was too tired to get farther than the Foot of Cherry Street, where he fell across the tracks, and laid there until the cars came along and mashed him into eternity.
