Central {(of Georgia)} Railroad
Superintendent's Office
Savannah, Ga., July 29, 1862

The great and continuing rise in all railroad materials, and the necessity of increasing the pay of Operatives, make it absolutely necessary to raise the rates of freight.
Notice is, therefore, hereby given, that on and after Monday, the 4th day of August, there will be charged an additional amount of twenty per centum on all freight passing over the roads of the Company and the branches to Eatonton and Augusta.
George W. Adams
General Sup't.
