Savannah, March 23, 1863

At a Special Meeting of Council convened this day, *****
The Committee to ascertain the prospect of getting prompt transportation for provisions brought to distribute to the citizens of Savannah, respectfully report that information has been received from the Superintendent of the Savannah, Albany & Gulf Railroad Company that transportation will be furnished for produce to be distributed to the citizens of Savannah without delay, and on the same terms as Government freight. Application was also made to the Central (of Georgia) Railroad for information on the same subject, which has not been furnished, owing to the absence of Geo. W. Adams, Esq. Superintendent.
Your Committee entertain the opinion that there will be no delay in getting transportation for such produce on the Central Railroad.
