Fire in Augusta |
Between thirty and forty bales
of cotton were destroyed by fire, about two o'clock on Saturday
afternoon, at the cotton yard of the South Carolina Railroad Depot. The
engines were soon on the spot, and the flames subdued without doing
further damage than the destruction of the cotton. The origin of the
fire is unknown. |
