North Carolina Railroad |
Want of space prevented us in our last
from expressing the high gratification we experienced, in announcing
that this Railroad had declared its third dividend -- being 8 per
cent. on its capital stock. This is especially gratifying in view of
the heavy losses which the Road is said recently to have sustained. |
For several weeks there has been a
manifest improvement in the time and regularity of the running on the
Road, which speaks well for the energy and ability of the President,
Mr. Webb. Let improvement be the order of the day on the Road, and it
will soon be placed in the position which the public desires, in
promptness, safety, regularity and the spirit of accommodation. It
will then pay. |
