We are glad to see that since Mr. Webb has
come into office {as President of the North
Carolina RR}, a platform has been put
down at the Western Depot; but a shelter is much needed, and the mud
at present around the Depot baffles description. The horses attached
to the various vehicles get through it with much difficulty -- what,
then, must it be for foot passengers who dare its sticky depths? Let a
shelter for the cars, omnibuses, and passengers be erected at once.
The Roads are in a prosperous condition, and can well afford to do
this work. We have been requested to call attention to the want of a
shelter, and we expect to be requested to repeat the call again and
again, especially as long as this bad weather continues. |
