A couple of box cars, freighted with sugar,
&c., broke loose from a train on the Raleigh & Gaston
Railroad, yesterday morning, and ran back down a heavy grade three
miles from this city, and came in contact with a freight train
following, by which a considerable smash up took place, chiefly
resulting in the spilling of a few hogsheads of sugar, to the infinite
delight of the soldiers in the neighborhood, who have a
"sweet" time of it. Nobody hurt. |
