Explosion of a Locomotive |
The locomotive "The
South" on the {Virginia} Central Railroad, which went up on yesterday with
the material train, exploded the boiler after its arrival at
Millboro', the western terminus of the road. The engineer, Mr. ??? was
the only person injured, and he not seriously. He was engaged at the
time in working out the cylinder packing when the explosion took
place. His escape from immediate death was wonderful, as the engine
was blown to atoms around him. |
