| The railroad connection has been
completed, and yesterday the first train, bearing cannon, passed over
the road. The advantage of this connection will be felt in the rapid transportation
of troops, stores, ordnance, &c.--The work was somewhat delayed,
from the fact that a bridge had to be built across the Appomattox. |
