NP, RD 4/23/1861

From the Richmond Dispatch

April 23, 1861

A very long train of empty cars left the {Virginia} Central depot last evening about 4 o'clock, and on inquiring of the Superintendent, we learned that they were dispatched after the Lexington Cadets and other companies along that line of travel, who will, no doubt arrive here today. Col. Smith, of the Institute, has been in town for several days.
