A noble act |
We learn, says the Charleston Courier,
that a drover who arrived at Charlotte, N. C., with one hundred head of beef cattle for another
destination, upon hearing of the conflagration at Charleston,
immediately obtained the consent of the railroad
company {the Charlotte & South Carolina RR
and the South Carolina RR} to transport them here and has turned the whole over to the
relief committee. Fifty head arrived in this city yesterday. |
