Mississippi Railroad Change Bill |
The Panola Star says: |
The Mississippi Legislature
has passed the supplemental act increasing the authorized change notes
to be issued by the railroads to $1,275,000. The Memphis &
Charleston Railroad is authorized to issue $250,000, and it is
required to keep an office of redemption at Iuka. The principal
feature of this measure consists of the fact that all the roads which
accept the bill are required to receive in payment for freight and
passage the issues of each other, thereby making each a security for
the other, and securing the final redemption of all issues made by the
different roads. |
