Died on the Cars |
John B. Sutphine, a private belonging to Co. D, 54th
Virginia regiment, died on the cars on the N. C. Railroad, just
below the company shops, on Wednesday night, Nov. 18th. He was on
his way to his home, Willis Ride P. O., Floyd county, Va., on
furlough, and had transportation from Newman, Ga., to
Christiansburg, Va. The body was brought to Raleigh and left with
Dr. Roberts, at the Wayside Hospital, for internment. His effects
are in possession of Dr. Roberts, who will gladly deliver them to
any one entitled to receive them. |
