Two Daily Passenger Trains |
Open to Newton Station. Distance from Vicksburg to
Newton 110 miles. Through Fare $4.90 |
On Monday, October 1st, 1860, the Following
Schedule goes into operation: |
The Morning Through Train, leaves Vicksburg
at 8 o'clock, A. M., connecting at Jackson Junction, with the
Passenger Train of the N. O. & G. N. R. R. going South, arriving
at Newton at 5 o'clock, P. M. |
The Evening Accommodation Train, (stopping
at Jackson) will leave Vicksburg at 2:55 P. M., and arrive at
Jackson Junction at 5:43 P. M., connecting with the Passenger
Train of the N. O. J. & G. N. R. R., going North. |
Returning -- The Through Train will leave Newton at 11:30
A. M., connecting at Jackson Junction, with the Passenger Train of the
N. O. J. & G. N. R. R. going North, and arrive at Vicksburg at
8:25 P. M.

The Accommodation Train will leave Jackson Junction at 8
o'clock, A. M., connecting with the Passenger Train from New Orleans,
and arrive at Vicksburg at 10:45 A. M.
|
Passengers from Vicksburg for Canton and the North by the
Mississippi Central Railroad, will take the Evening Train.

Passengers for Stations East of Jackson, will take the
Morning Train.
|
Passengers for New Orleans can take either Train.
|
Passengers getting on the cars without procuring a ticket
from the Station where the Company is prepared to sell them, will be
charged Ten Cents extra for the first station, and five cents extra
for every station thereafter to the place of stopping.
|
The above schedule will be compiled with all passengers
and freight will be carried as far as the condition of the road, the
safety of the public, and the ability of the Company will justify. But
for any failures or omissions to comply therewith or to carry any
freight which may be hauled to any Depot for transportation on the
Road, the Company will not hold itself responsible.
