This body were in session n
Monday, the 25th inst., for the purpose of fixing the tariff on
freight and passengers. These will be settled definitely on such terms
as will invite travel and business over the road. |
Already the company have
contracted with responsible parties for the construction of a
draw-bridge over the Ouachita river, which will be completed for
transportation of cotton from its west bank by the first of October
next. The contractors are getting piling, timbers, and other material
rapidly together, prepatory to the prosecution of the work during the
low water season. |
