Milledgeville, Ga., May 23d, 1861 |
Representations having been
made to the Governor and Commander-in-Chief, by those concerned, that
the public interests would be materially injured by withdrawing from
the railroads in the State for the military service, many of the
mechanics and other employees on such roads, he hereby directs
Commanders of Volunteers not to receive or muster in their Commands
any one connected with any railroad in Georgia, who shall be certified
by the Superintendent or other proper authority of said road, to be
necessary for its service. |
