From the Nashville Dispatch

December 7, 1862

   It is reported that the Confederates have blown up the piers of the railroad bridges, heretofore burned at Duck river and Harpeth, on the Nashville & Decatur Railroad, and that they are removing all the iron rails between Columbia and Franklin {20 miles} to some point South, and destroying the cross-ties.
{The Dispatch was a Union paper, but this information was of great importance to the stockholders and businessmen in Nashville. I have not found this information in any Confederate paper.}
