Heavy Freights
At no period in the history of the State Road {Western  Atlantic RR} has it done so heavy a freight business as at present. At almost every hour of the day, immense trains pass up and down, heavily laden. The down trains, particularly, almost groan beneath the huge piles of grain, provisions, cattle, &c., destined for markets below this point, inspiring any other idea, even these hard times than of starvation.
