Heavy Freights |
At no period in the history of
the State Road {Western Atlantic RR} has
it done so heavy a freight business as at present. At almost every
hour of the day, immense trains pass up and down, heavily laden. The
down trains, particularly, almost groan beneath the huge piles of
grain, provisions, cattle, &c., destined for markets below this
point, inspiring any other idea, even these hard times than of
starvation. |
