On Monday evening, we received the Mobile, Ala.
"Tribune," dated the 4th, and the "Advertiser," of
the 21. The Mobile & Ohio Railroad has been completed through to
Corinth, Miss., and there connects with the Memphis & Charleston
R. R. This connection will enable us to get mail matter from Mobile,
while it is new.
|
This road, the Mobile & Ohio, is said to be a fine
road, and one that will prove a great value to the section through
which it passes. The President, Directors, and all the officers
conected with it, are accused of being the cleverest sort of
gentlemen. Persons wanting to go to Mobile, can try this road, and see
how they like it. The Mobile people are now our neighbors. When we get
an opportunity, we will pay them a visit, and be neighborly, Come up,
gentlemen, and bring your families, and see our burg. We have a rail
road to our town {the Memphis & Charleston
RR}.
